Basketball Recap: Monte Del Sol Charter Comes Up Short

Monte Del Sol Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They took a blow against the Legacy Academy Silverbacks, falling 56-8. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-3.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Maria Delgado and Renata Corral, who each put up three points. Goksu Dolek held things down on the boards with three rebounds.

Legacy Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cheyanne Snoddy led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 12 points and nine steals. Those nine steals gave Snoddy a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eden Griffis, who went 5 for 7 en route to 10 points and seven rebounds.

Monte Del Sol Charter's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Legacy Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Monte Del Sol Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 43-7 defeat against Menaul on the 29th. As for Legacy Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 47-38 victory against Native American Community Academy/Evangel Christian Academy on the 30th.
