Softball Recap: Falls Lake Continues Road Dominance on Tuesday

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Cedar Ridge, Falls Lake was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wake Prep Academy Guardians a 10-0 shutout. The Firebirds might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Wynterlee Glenn's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Reagan Yancey was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Another player making a difference was Kayla Cash, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Falls Lake kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive contests.

Falls Lake pushed their record up to 8-9 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Wake Prep Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Falls Lake wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 9-5 win against American Leadership Academy-Johnston on the 23rd. As for Wake Prep Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, an 11-0 loss against Green Hope on the 23rd.
