High school baseball: Tylan Amerson of Alabama tops stolen base leaderboard with 86

Minor (Adamsville) senior hit .504 and led the nation in runs scored.

Tylan Amerson of Minor (Adamsville, Ala.) leads high school baseball nationally with 86 stolen bases this season according to statistics submitted to MaxPreps. The junior hit .504 on the season and had a streak of seven games with at least four stolen bases.

Teamed with senior teammate Kareem Keye, third nationally with 73 stolen bases, the speedy team made it to the second round of the Alabama 6A playoffs.

Kaleb Cost of Sandy Creek (Tyrone, Ga.) is second on the leaderboard with 84 stolen bags. Also a three-star cornerback headed to North Carolina, the senior hit .544 with four home runs for a playoff squad.

Senior Anthony Sosa of Prosser (Chicago, Ill.) is fifth on the list and has 64 stolen bases, more than any player whose season is still in season. With two regular season games still to play, Sosa is hitting .677 for the Falcons and had seven stolen bases in a single game this year.
