Basketball Recap: Carlsbad Finds Playoff Glory Versus Santa Fe Christian

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Carlsbad walked away with it. They walked away with a 71-64 victory over the Santa Fe Christian Eagles on Friday. The Lancers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Despite the loss, Santa Fe Christian still got an impressive performance from Dax Hall, who on his way to 29 points and eight assists. Hall is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 17 or more in each of the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaden Hitipeuw, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Carlsbad pushed their record up to 24-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points over those games. As for Santa Fe Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 22-7.

Looking ahead, Carlsbad will challenge Cathedral Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Cathedral Catholic's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 18 games. Santa Fe Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
