Basketball Preview: San Dimas Saints vs. Los Altos Conquerors
The San Dimas Saints will take on the Los Altos Conquerors at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. San Dimas knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Los Altos likes a good challenge.
Last Saturday, everything came up roses for San Dimas against High Tech SD as the squad secured a 68-30 victory. The Saints have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
San Dimas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anelly Alba led the charge by going 7 of 13 on her way to 16 points in addition to five assists and five steals. Alba is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Nevaeh Verdines-O?Cain, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 18 points and five steals.
Alba wasn't the only one working in the assists department: San Dimas was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as High Tech SD only posted four assists.
Meanwhile, Los Altos sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 45-43 win over Colony on Monday.
The victory got Los Altos back to even at 10-10. As for San Dimas, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
San Dimas barely slipped by Los Altos when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 47-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for San Dimas since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
