Given Holy Innocents Episcopal's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while Hapeville Charter is ranked 147th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Caleb Wilson, who almost dropped a triple-double on 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 9 assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Holy Innocents Episcopal's points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Mays, who scored 19 points.
Despite the loss, Hapeville Charter had strong showings from Jonathan Goldson, who scored 22 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals, and Thad Buttone, who scored 17 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals. The game was Goldson's fourth in a row with at least ten points.
Even though they lost, Hapeville Charter were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Holy Innocents Episcopal only pulled down six.
The victory makes it two in a row for Holy Innocents Episcopal and bumps their season record up to 4-2. As for Hapeville Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Holy Innocents Episcopal will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Westminster at 6:30 p.m. As for Hapeville Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Clarkston at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
