Weston hasn't had much luck against De Soto recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Silver Eagles will host the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Weston came out on top against Kickapoo on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Silver Eagles walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Panthers.

Trevor Westphal and Isaac Jennings made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Westphal tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Jennings struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Westphal also tossed no walks, which is notable because Weston is 5-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise. At the plate, Westphal went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Jennings went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. That's the most hits Jennings has posted since back in April of 2025.
In other batting news, William Johnsrud was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Blake Bingham, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Weston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .378. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kickapoo only posted a batting average of .192.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for De Soto, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They blew past North Crawford 11-1 on Monday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.
De Soto has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Weston, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Weston might still be hurting after the 11-0 defeat they got from De Soto in their previous meeting back in April. Can the Silver Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
