Softball Recap: Taylor's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverview, Taylor was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They came out on top against the Jefferson Bears by a score of 8-4. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Griffins as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Joslyn MacKenzie ?25 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Hailey Kanalos ?26, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Taylor pushed their record up to 8-14 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Jefferson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.

Taylor will have a chance to go back-to-back against Jefferson: the pair will be back at it again later today.
