Softball Game Preview: Tabb Tigers vs. Smithfield Packers

The Tabb Tigers will challenge the Smithfield Packers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tabb is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Tabb didn't have quite enough to beat Grafton and fell 7-6. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Alayna Davidson was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Milenah Camacho, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Smithfield had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it five last Friday. Everything went their way against the Rams as they made off with a 25-2 win. The Packers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Cheyenne Debusk, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

Smithfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .725. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive contests.

Smithfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Tabb, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-8.
