Basketball Recap: Capitol Hill Comes Up Short

Capitol Hill and Edmond Memorial squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Capitol Hill had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 103-9 loss at the hands of the Edmond Memorial Bulldogs. The Redwolves just can't catch a break and have now endured 12 defeats in a row.

Edmond Memorial's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Avery Hjelmstad, who shot 68% from the field en route to 27 points. Thanks to that strong game, Hjelmstad now owns an excellent 45.4% field goal percentage. The team also got some help courtesy of Janiyah Williams, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 15 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Capitol Hill's loss dropped their record down to 1-22. As for Edmond Memorial, their win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3.

Capitol Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Edmond Memorial, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-41 victory against Putnam City on the 1st.
