Softball Game Preview: Springfield Blue Devils vs. Anthony Wayne Generals

The Springfield Blue Devils will head out to take on the Anthony Wayne Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Springfield comes in on four and Anthony Wayne on six.

Springfield barely beat Bowling Green the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Bobcats on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won 11 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lincolnview typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Anthony Wayne proved too difficult a challenge. They never let the Lancers get on the board and left with a 2-0 win. Two seems to be a good number for the Generals as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Springfield pushed their record up to 15-8 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Anthony Wayne, their record now sits at 17-2.
