Basketball Game Preview: Southside Cardinals vs. MacArthur Brahmas

The Southside Cardinals will head out to challenge the MacArthur Brahmas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Southside is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They had to suffer through a 80-42 loss at the hands of South San Antonio. The Cardinals were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-16.

Meanwhile, MacArthur played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Jay 93-34. The Brahmas have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

MacArthur's defeat dropped their record down to 6-20. As for Southside, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Southside was able to grind out a solid win over MacArthur in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 59-51. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southside since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
