Football Recap: Gordonsville Comes Up Short

Gordonsville entered their matchup against Stone Memorial on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Tigers were outmatched by the Panthers and fell 43-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 21-0 back in March.

Stone Memorial found their leader in sophomore Lauren Clark, who rushed for 104 yards and three scores on only six carries, and also threw for 190 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 15 passes. Lily Hinch was another key player, picking up 96 receiving yards and one TD.

Gordonsville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Stone Memorial, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Gordonsville has already played their next game, a 13-7 defeat against Warren County on the 21st. As for Stone Memorial, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 47-0 win against Smith County on the 17th.
