Basketball Recap: Alicia Mendez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Washington over Glendale

Washington was the 45-35 winner over Glendale when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Washington Rams fell 42-34 to the Glendale Cardinals on Monday.

Washington lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Alicia Mendez, who posted 18 points. Another player making a difference was AnyaLisa Carino, who put up 12 points.

Washington has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Glendale, they moved to 8-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Washington will challenge Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Glendale, they will take on Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
