Basketball Recap: Friendship Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Friendship Collegiate Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 70-65 heartbreaker at the hands of the Parkside Eagles. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-57 back in January.

It was another big night for Colby Murphy, who posted 28 points for Parkside. That makes it three consecutive games in which Murphy has scored at least a third of Parkside's points. Another player making a difference was Daiquan Smith, who scored 13 points.

Friendship Collegiate Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Parkside, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 18-8.

Friendship Collegiate Academy and KIPP College Prep will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Friendship Collegiate Academy is facing KIPP College Prep at the right time seeing as KIPP College Prep is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Parkside, they and Takoma Academy will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. One thing working in Parkside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight matches.
