Volleyball Recap: Beatrice Orangemen vs. Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays
Beatrice was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against the Ashland-Greenwood Bluejays, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Orangemen of the 3-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.
The final score came out to 25-13, 25-8, 25-6.
Claire Trusty paced Beatrice's offense, picking up four kills. Trusty got some help from Kiley Hatcliff and her six assists.
Ashland-Greenwood found their leader in sophomore Averi Bridges, who had seven digs and five aces. Tariah Hansborough also deserves some recognition as she served her first ace of the season.
Beatrice's defeat dropped their record down to 4-13. As for Ashland-Greenwood, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Beatrice will head out to face off against York at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ashland-Greenwood, they will venture away from home to square off against Fort Calhoun at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
