Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Vista Trojans vs. Creede Miners

The Mesa Vista Trojans will be taking part in a tournament against the Creede Miners at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mesa Vista has given up an average of 49.6 points per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Mesa Vista is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Logan, who was ranked first at the time (Mesa Vista was ranked eighth). The Trojans took a 69-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns on Saturday. The loss was the Trojans' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Creede was not able to break out of their rough patch last Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost to La Veta on the road by a 40-26 margin.

Having lost for the first time this season, Mesa Vista fell to 6-1. As for Creede, their loss dropped their record down to 0-4.
