Baseball Recap: Hebron Academy Takes a Loss

Hebron Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-3 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Kents Hill School Huskies. If the Lumberjacks were looking for revenge after losing 13-5 to the Huskies when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Kents Hill School, they now have a winning record of 4-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for they.

For Kents Hill School's part, Noah Kline made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Kline also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kents Hill School is 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise. Kline was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Ben Hugessen was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. He is becoming a predictor of Kents Hill School's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Grayson Frothingham was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Coming up, Kents Hill School will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Gould Academy at 4:30 p.m. Hebron Academy will be paying especially close attention to the Huskies' contest: after the Huskies face off against the Huskies, they'll take on Hebron Academy again at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
