Softball Recap: Northern Highlands Gets the Win

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last seven times Northern Highlands and Ridgewood have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Highlanders beat the Maroons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 4-3. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 win the Maroons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Northern Highlands now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Ridgewood, they are on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northern Highlands will face off against Wayne Hills at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Patriots have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season. As for Ridgewood, they will venture away from home to face off against Bergen Tech at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
