Volleyball Game Preview: Wakefield Memorial Warriors vs. Marshfield Rams

The Wakefield Memorial Warriors will square off against the Marshfield Rams on Saturday. Wakefield Memorial will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Wakefield Memorial made easy work of Wilmington and carried off a 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Wakefield Memorial was: they took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-15, 25-15.

Wakefield Memorial's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cara Carangelo, who had five digs and five aces. Carangelo is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Carangelo wasn't the only good servers: Wakefield Memorial was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. The Warriors are 14-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Marshfield walked away with it. They blew past the Craftsmen 3-0 on Thursday.

Marshfield was especially dominant in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-14, 25-18.

Wakefield Memorial's record is now 16-4. As for Marshfield, their record now sits at 13-8.
