Baseball Recap: Key's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Key had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-5 margin over the Sts. Peter & Paul Sabres. The result was nothing new for the Obezags, who have now won three matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.

Alex Neenan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Neenan was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Seven bases. while going 3-for-4. Key is undefeated when Neenan posts two or more stolen bases, but 1-2 otherwise.

In other batting news, John Fisher was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Key's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Aidan Stewart was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4.

Key always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March of 2024.

Key's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Sts. Peter & Paul, they dropped their record down to 0-3 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Key will have a chance to go back-to-back against Sts. Peter & Paul: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
