Softball Recap: Boardman Takes a Loss

After flying high against Poland Seminary on Wednesday, Boardman came back down to earth. The Spartans fell just short of the Canfield Cardinals by a score of 6-5 on Friday. The Spartans have struggled against the Cardinals recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meeting.

Alex Ward made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another player making a difference was Kenzie Cherne, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Boardman's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Canfield, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-2-1.

Boardman has already played their next game, a 24-18 win against Tuslaw on the 10th. As for Canfield, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 9-2 defeat against Champion on the 10th.
