Basketball Recap: Makayla Lapp's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Bridges Prep over Whale Branch

Bridges Prep played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 47-24 to the Whale Branch Warriors. The Buccaneers haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Bridges Prep's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Makayla Lapp, who posted eight points. The dominant performance also gave Lapp a new career-high in blocks (two). Another player making a difference was Addie Taylor, who scored three points and 16 boards.

Harmony Prejean was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 14 rebounds for Whale Branch. That makes it five consecutive games in which Prejean has scored at least a third of Whale Branch's points. Larmore Pryor was another key player, putting up nine points along with eight boards and six assists.

Bridges Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Whale Branch, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Bridges Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 64-26 loss against Cross on the 29th. As for Whale Branch, they have also already played their next game, a 39-17 victory against Edisto on the 31st.
