Football Recap: Mount Dora Christian Academy Starts Season with Defeat at Home + How To Watch

Mount Dora Christian Academy unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 19-14 to the Fernandina Beach Pirates on Friday. The contest was a 7-7 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Issac Farling and Noah Slegers certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Farling rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown, while Slegers rushed for 58 yards on only six carries.

Looking ahead, Mount Dora Christian Academy is headed away from home for the first time to face off against Lake Highland Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Fernandina Beach, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hilliard at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
