Baseball Recap: Everett Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Everett can now relate to. They fell just short of the Fort Cherry Rangers by a score of 1-0 on Monday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Warriors haven't been shut out since back in April.

Chase Sherwood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

Everett's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Fort Cherry, their record is now 19-2.

Everett does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Fort Cherry, they will face off against Mercyhurst Prep on Thursday. The Lakers will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something the Rangers surely won't give up without a fight.
