Baseball Game Preview: St. Petersburg Green Devils vs. Largo Packers

The St. Petersburg Green Devils are taking a road trip to challenge the Largo Packers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Last Friday, St. Petersburg came up short against IMG Academy Silver and fell 5-1. The Green Devils have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

St. Petersburg saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Garrett Perdek, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Largo has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.5 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Tuesday. They lost 12-2 to Countryside. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Packers have suffered since May 7, 2024.

St. Petersburg's loss dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Largo, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.
