There's no place like home for Geneva, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the St. Charles East Fighting Saints by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Fighting Saints recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 28-26.

Emma Peterson paced Geneva's offense, picking up 11 kills. Peterson got some help from Ally Stevenson and her 27 assists. Peterson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Despite the defeat, St. Charles East saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gianna Gjokaj had nine digs and four aces.

Geneva's win bumped their record up to 19-16. As for St. Charles East, their loss ended a six-match streak of away wins and brought them to 13-20.

Geneva does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Charles East, they are taking a road trip to challenge Downers Grove North at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
