Baseball Preview: Belleville Buccaneers vs. Bloomfield Bengals
The Belleville Buccaneers will head out to square off against the Bloomfield Bengals at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
Belleville couldn't beat Newark Academy on Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Minutemen by a score of 5-4.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bloomfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Hoboken on Saturday.
Miles Jimenez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits.
At the plate, Noah Attas was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Brady Cole, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
The win got Bloomfield back to even at 1-1. As for Belleville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
