Football Game Preview: Delta Panthers vs. Basalt Longhorns + How To Watch

Delta is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Friday. They will square off against the Basalt Longhorns at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Delta's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points in their last four games.

On Friday, everything came up roses for Delta against Alamosa as the team secured a 48-14 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Mean Moose: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Basalt came up short against Teton last Friday and fell 40-28. While the Longhorns had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Timberwolves 14-7.

Delta will have to contain Will Tarallo as he made an impact in Basalt's last game. He rushed for 62 yards and a pair of scores, and also picked up 69 receiving yards. Tarallo also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, making five total tackles and defending two passes.

Basalt now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Delta, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.

Friday's contest might be decided in the trenches. Delta has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 222.2 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Basalt, though, as they've been averaging only 94.2 rushing yards. How will they fare against such a dominant running game?
