After a string of six wins, Atlantic Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They came up short against the King's Academy Lions, falling 3-0. If the Sharks were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lions when the teams met back in March of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Atlantic Christian was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-14, 25-16.

Kyle Kiefer paced Atlantic Christian's offense, picking up seven kills. Kiefer got some help from Jonathan Gonzalez and his 18 assists.

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 14-6. As for King's Academy, they pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Atlantic Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against American Heritage on the 14th. As for King's Academy, they will challenge Suncoast at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Chargers will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
