Softball Game Preview: Brockport Blue Devils vs. Canandaigua Academy Braves

Brockport hasn't had much luck against Canandaigua Academy recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Blue Devils will take on the Braves at 5:15 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Brockport had taken Gates Chili down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Blue Devils lost 19-7 to the Spartans. That's two games in a row now that the Blue Devils have lost by exactly 12 runs.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Canandaigua Academy's offense. They came up short against Victor on Thursday, falling 12-0. The Braves just can't catch a break and have now endured six defeats in a row dating back to last season.

Canandaigua Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Olivia Kessel, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one double.

Canandaigua Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Brockport, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 0-2.

Brockport suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Canandaigua Academy when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
