Basketball Recap: El Modena Vanguards vs. Katella Knights
El Modena lost against Katella back in December of 2016 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The El Modena Vanguards received a blow as they fell 40-25 to the Katella Knights. The contest marked the Vanguards' lowest-scoring match so far this season.
Katella found their leader in sophomore Michael Montejo, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 14 points along with six assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Montejo has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jesus Jaramillo, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points.
El Modena's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Katella, their win bumped their record up to 4-5.
El Modena will take on Fullerton in a holiday battle at at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Katella, they will host Loara at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
