Softball Recap: Era Triumphs

Era lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Samuell, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Tuesday's game. The Hornets were the clear victors by a 24-1 margin over the Spartans on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Hornets' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Bentley Sloop made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sloop was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Jaycie Goss was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brynlee Rathbun, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Era's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Samuell, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, Era will be taking part in a tournament against DasCHE at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Samuell, they will take on Molina in a tournament on Thursday.
