Softball Recap: Southeastern RVT Hawks vs. Wareham Vikings
Southeastern RVT came into this matchup off a tough 17-run loss last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Wareham Vikings by a score of 4-2 on Wednesday. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Becca Hornung was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Hornung was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.
Hornung wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Bella Milks, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Southeastern RVT's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southeastern RVT will square off against Upper Cape Cod RVT at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wareham, they will welcome Rising Tide at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
