Basketball Recap: Kennedy Comes Up Short

Kennedy was the 56-34 winner over Rosemont when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars took a 56-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Kennedy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amari Rideaux posted 17 points. The contest was Rideaux's third in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jordan Pitts, who earned 11 points.

Matthew Fredeluces was nothing short of spectacular for Rosemont: he almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Fredeluces a new career-high in steals (four). Gus Bailey was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Kennedy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Rosemont, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Kennedy has already played their next matchup, a 71-14 loss against St. Mary's on the 4th. As for Rosemont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-24 win against Esparto on the 4th.
