Softball Game Preview: Hodgson Vo-Tech Eagles vs. Mount Pleasant Green Knights

Hodgson Vo-Tech and Mount Pleasant are an even 4-4 against one another since May of 2015, but likely not for long. The Eagles will take on the Green Knights at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

As a matter of fact, Hodgson Vo-Tech put up the most runs they have all season on Thursday. Everything went their way against McKean as they made off with a 27-5 win. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Mount Pleasant got the win against First State Military Academy on Thursday by a conclusive 17-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Green Knights.

Hodgson Vo-Tech has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.4 runs over those games. As for Mount Pleasant, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Everything went Hodgson Vo-Tech's way against Mount Pleasant when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Hodgson Vo-Tech made off with a 14-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
