Softball Recap: Auburn Riverside Comes Up Short

Auburn Riverside dropped their record down to 14-8 on Saturday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 10-2 to the Rogers Rams. If the Ravens were looking for revenge after losing 14-5 to the Rams when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Rogers, their record is now 21-4. Considering they have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For Rogers' part, Sierra Murray made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Murray has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Madison Adiar was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Payton Walling was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

Auburn Riverside does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rogers, they have already played their next contest, a 15-0 win against Olympia on the 17th.
