Baseball Game Preview: Falls City Beavers vs. La Pryor Bulldogs

Falls City has gone a perfect 10-0 against La Pryor recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Beavers will head out to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Falls City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.

Falls City was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Brackett on Tuesday. The Beavers blew past the Tigers 12-5. Considering the Beavers have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Dale Shaffer was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Falls City's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Tanner Krawietz was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, La Pryor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to Sabinal.

La Pryor saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Moises Lopez, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Falls City has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for La Pryor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything went Falls City's way against La Pryor in their previous meeting back in March, as Falls City made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Beavers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
