Heyworth and Ridgeview are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Heyworth Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Ridgeview Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Heyworth is headed into the game having just suffered their closest defeat since January 10th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley by a score of 53-51.

Meanwhile, Ridgeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 63-49 bruising from El Paso-Gridley. The contest was a 31-31 toss-up at halftime, but the Mustangs couldn't quite close it out.

Ridgeview's defeat dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Heyworth, their loss dropped their record down to 13-16.

Everything came up roses for Heyworth against Ridgeview in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, as the team secured a 74-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Heyworth since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
