Basketball Recap: Carlinville Comes Up Short

Carlinville was the 64-48 winner over Litchfield when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Carlinville Cavaliers were just a bucket shy of victory on Tuesday and fell 44-43 to the Litchfield Purple Panthers. The Cavaliers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Carlinville lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Dominic Alepra, who went 7-for-17 to rack up 21 points. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Tate Duckels, who almost dropped a double-double with 11 points and nine boards.

Carlinville's record is now 13-17. As for Litchfield, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 13-17.

Coming up, Carlinville will head out to take on Greenville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Litchfield, they will host Gillespie at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Litchfield is facing Gillespie at the right time seeing as Gillespie is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
