With a playoff win on the line, Winneconne rose to the challenge on Saturday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Seymour Thunder an 8-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for Winneconne, who have now won 12 matches by three goals or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Winneconne's fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-3. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those four contests. As for Seymour, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-8-1 record this season.
