Cypress Ranch will head into Friday's matchup on the come-up: they were handed a heart-breaking two-point defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Waller on Friday. Cypress Ranch put the hurt on Waller with a sharp 69-44 victory. Given the Mustangs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 1192nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Bridgeland's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell to Cypress Park 62-56.

Cypress Ranch's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Bridgeland, their loss dropped their record down to 14-9.

Cypress Ranch didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bridgeland in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cypress Ranch since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
