Baseball Game Preview: Unioto Shermans vs. Adena Warriors

Unioto is a perfect 10-0 against Adena since April of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Shermans will venture away from home to face off against the Warriors at 5:15 p.m. Unioto is coming into the match hot, having won their last five games.

Unioto proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 11) and on Monday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Westfall.

KB Perkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Jaxon Zickafoose was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Callaway Ratliff, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Meanwhile, Adena can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They walked away with a 5-1 win over Southeastern.

Unioto's record is now 14-6. As for Adena, their record now sits at 4-9.

Unioto took their victory against Adena in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Shermans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
