Basketball Recap: Mount Hope Christian Academy Starts Season with Victory Against Pipestem Christian Academy

Mount Hope Christian Academy took care of business in their home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Pipestem Christian Academy Panthers by a score of 79-70. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 58-57 win the Panthers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Leading Mount Hope Christian Academy to victory were RYAN PERRY and TALAN CARON. PERRY dropped a double-double with 38 points and 12 rebounds, while CARON dropped a triple-double with 15 points, ten boards, and 13 assists. CARON is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last 17 games he's played dating back to last season. SAM PERRY was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.

Mount Hope Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Hope Christian Academy will challenge West Logan Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Pipestem Christian Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Victory Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 2.
