South Johnston and Scotland squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but South Johnston had to settle for second. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fighting Scots. The Trojans' loss signaled the end of their 23-game winning streak.

Reese Penny was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run. Lannah Price was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

South Johnston's defeat dropped their record down to 23-2. As for Scotland, the victory (which was their 27th in a row) raised their record to 28-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Fighting Scots beat South Johnston by a score of 8-1 on Thursday.
