Soccer Recap: William Smith Comes Up Short

If William Smith was feeling good fresh off their 8-4 takedown of Twin Peaks Classical Academy last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles fell just short of the Manual Thunderbolts by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to William Smith of the 10-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Their goal came courtesy of Jason Flores, who's now up to two this season.

William Smith has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 11 goals over those four matches. As for Manual, their win bumped their record up to 4-1-1.

William Smith wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 5-1 defeat against Denver Academy on the 3rd. As for Manual, they have also already played their next matchup, a 1-0 loss against Kennedy on the 30th.
