Baseball Recap: St. Patrick Starts Season with Victory on the Road

St. Patrick had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They had just enough and edged out the Niles North Vikings 6-5. The Shamrocks haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Aiden David made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). David was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

In other pitching news, Connor Malone looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, St. Patrick let Patrick Levar and Thomas Tomaszek run wild. Levar scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Tomaszek went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Jalen Gonzalez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI.

St. Patrick was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Niles North only posted a batting average of .250.
