McDonell Central scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They walked away with a 78-67 win over Bloomer. Given McDonell Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while Bloomer is ranked 144th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Cadott pushed their score all the way to 66 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 80-66 fall against Stanley-Boyd. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (62), Cadott still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Cadott saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Taylor Hager, who scored 19 points, was perhaps the best of all. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Kowalczyk, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds.
McDonell Central pushed their record up to 7-0 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cadott, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
