Preview: Skyline Eagles vs. Olympus Titans
The Skyline Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Olympus Titans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Skyline is ranked 72nd, while Olympus is ranked 48th).
Last Friday, Skyline lost to West on the road by a decisive 67-51 margin.
Skyline's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cami Groberg, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, and Leelu Bare who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mia Johnson, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two blocks.
Meanwhile, Olympus scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past East 80-44 at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Olympus has managed all season.
Olympus relied on the efforts of Joss Baker, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds, and Keily Trabanino, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trabanino has scored all season. Chloe Bontempo was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five rebounds.
Skyline's loss dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Olympus, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.
Skyline didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Olympus when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 54-48 win. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Olympus' Abby Topham, who scored 21 points. Now that she won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Skyline to walk away with another win? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
