Kings Mountain is 9-1 against North Gaston since January of 2020 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Kings Mountain Mountaineers will challenge the North Gaston Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with six consecutive losses for Kings Mountain and nine for North Gaston.

Kings Mountain is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Huss on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Kings Mountain took a blow against Huss, falling 81-33. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 528th, while the Huskies are ranked 75th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when North Gaston duked it out withForestview on Tuesday. North Gaston was dealt a 68-30 loss at the hands of Forestview.

Kings Mountain's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for North Gaston, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Kings Mountain was able to grind out a solid victory over North Gaston in their previous matchup back in January, winning 45-32. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kings Mountain since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
